Title: Some aspects of professional terminology study by non-philology students

Abstract: In the article a brief description of the types of work with professional terminology in lessons on the Ukrainian language by professional orientation was given. Different types of exercises are offered for non-phylological students.

The main requirement for teaching Ukrainian is professional communication today. A necessary condition for effective professional activity is a conscious choice by specialists of the necessary linguistic means in particular terms.

At lessons on the Ukrainian language by professional orientation work with professional terminology we propose to conduct in two versions. The first version is based on the reproductive approach and forms students’ skills in working with professional literature. The second version of students’ work requires them to be independent and creative. They must think about their tasks. Consequently successful mastering of professional terminology is one of conditions for the preparation of a high level specialist.
