Abstract: The article presents the constructed basic models of three-element terms and terminological phrase, in which, in addition to semantic relationship, the grammatical subordination of dependent words to the head ones, as well as the fusing of term elements, are conveyed. All models are illustrated with concrete examples. On the basis of the constructed models, the rules for writing by fusing, with a hyphen or as a separate word are formulated. These rules are compared with the provisions of the current Ukrainian orthography and certain nonconformities in the spelling rules of the current Ukrainian orthography have been revealed. It is shown that the established spelling of some terms with a hyphen infringes the norms of the current Ukrainian orthography and is a consequence of the detrimental influence of foreign languages, which must be eliminated. The article proposes to bring the form of certain established terms into correspondence with the constructed models and norms of current Ukrainian orthography, as well as to eliminate the identified inconsistencies by clarifying certain orthography provisions.
