The proposed study is the first attempt in Ukrainian linguistics to provide a comprehensive description of paronyms in the outlined terminology. Paronyms are close to homonymy, but, unlike homonyms, they are either synonyms or cognates.<br \/>\nThe system of Ukrainian library and bibliographic terminology has numerous pairs (two words) and series (three or more words) of paronyms. It has been established that paronymy in Ukrainian library and bibliographic terminology differs in: a) prefixes: \u0437\u0447\u0438\u0442\u0443\u0432\u0430\u043d\u043d\u044f \u2013 \u0432\u0438\u0447\u0438\u0442\u0443\u0432\u0430\u043d\u043d\u044f; b) suffixes: \u043c\u0435\u0440\u0435\u0436\u0435\u0432\u0438\u0439 \u2013 \u043c\u0435\u0440\u0435\u0436\u043d\u0438\u0439; c) individual (present or absent) vowels or consonants in the root: \u0430\u043d\u043e\u0442\u0430\u0446\u0456\u044f \u2013 \u043d\u043e\u0442\u0430\u0446\u0456\u044f; d) presence or absence of a sound: \u0430\u0434\u0440\u0435\u0441\u0430\u043d\u0442 \u2013 \u0430\u0434\u0440\u0435\u0441\u0430\u0442; e) genitive paradigm: \u0430\u0434\u0440\u0435\u0441 \u2013 \u0430\u0434\u0440\u0435\u0441\u0430; f) singular or plural: \u043a\u0456\u043d\u043e\u0434\u043e\u043a\u0443\u043c\u0435\u043d\u0442 \u2013 \u043a\u0456\u043d\u043e\u0434\u043e\u043a\u0443\u043c\u0435\u043d\u0442\u0438.<br \/>\nIt has been found that in the Ukrainian library and bibliographic terminology, paronymy can be classified according to the following features: 1) by the degree of convergence of the sound de-sign of the morphemic composition: \u0456\u043d\u0442\u0440\u0430\u043d\u0435\u0442 \u2013 \u0456\u043d\u0442\u0435\u0440\u043d\u0435\u0442; 2) by belonging to a certain terminological system: a) external: \u0434\u0435\u0444\u0435\u043a\u0442\u043d\u0456\u0441\u0442\u044c (\u043f\u0435\u0440\u0435\u0432\u0456\u0440\u043a\u0430 \u043f\u0440\u0438\u043c\u0456\u0440\u043d\u0438\u043a\u0430 \u043d\u0430 \u0434\u0435\u0444\u0435\u043a\u0442\u043d\u0456\u0441\u0442\u044c) \u0434\u0435\u0444\u0435\u043a\u0442\u0438\u0432\u043d\u0456\u0441\u0442\u044c (medical). ); b) intrasystemic (\u043a\u0430\u0442\u0430\u043b\u043e\u0433\u0456\u0437\u0430\u0446\u0456\u044f \u2013\u043a\u0430\u0442\u0430\u043b\u043e\u0433\u0456\u0437\u0443\u0432\u0430\u043d\u043d\u044f). 3) by part-of-speech: a) noun: \u043f\u0435\u0440\u0435\u0432\u0456\u0440\u043a\u0430 (\u043f\u0435\u0440\u0435\u0432\u0456\u0440\u043a\u0430 \u043f\u0440\u0438\u043c\u0456\u0440\u043d\u0438\u043a\u0430 \u043d\u0430 \u0434\u0435\u0444\u0435\u043a\u0442\u043d\u0456\u0441\u0442\u044c) \u2013 \u043f\u0435\u0440\u0435\u0432\u0456\u0440\u044f\u043d\u043d\u044f (\u043f\u0435\u0440\u0435\u0432\u0456\u0440\u044f\u043d\u043d\u044f \u043d\u0430\u044f\u0432\u043d\u043e\u0441\u0442\u0456 \u0442\u0430 \u0441\u0442\u0430\u043d\u0443 \u043e\u0434\u0438\u043d\u0438\u0446\u044c \u0437\u0431\u0435\u0440\u0456\u0433\u0430\u043d\u043d\u044f; b) adjectival: communicative \u043a\u043e\u043c\u0443\u043d\u0456\u043a\u0430\u0442\u0438\u0432\u043d\u0438\u0439 (\u043a\u043e\u043c\u0443\u043d\u0456\u043a\u0430\u0442\u0438\u0432\u043d\u0430 \u0441\u043f\u0440\u044f\u043c\u043e\u0432\u0430\u043d\u0456\u0441\u0442\u044c \u0442\u0435\u043a\u0441\u0442\u0443) \u2013 \u043a\u043e\u043c\u0443\u043d\u0456\u043a\u0430\u0446\u0456\u0439\u043d\u0438\u0439 (\u043a\u043e\u043c\u0443\u043d\u0456\u043a\u0430\u0446\u0456\u0439\u043d\u0430 \u043c\u0435\u0440\u0435\u0436\u0430); c) verbal (mainly due to consonant prefixes, less often \u2013 suffixes): \u0432\u0438\u0437\u043d\u0430\u0447\u0430\u0442\u0438 (\u0432\u0438\u0437\u043d\u0430\u0447\u0430\u0442\u0438 \u0441\u0442\u0430\u043d \u0437\u0431\u0435\u0440\u0435\u0436\u0435\u043d\u043d\u044f \u043a\u043d\u0438\u0433) \u2013 \u0432\u0456\u0434\u0437\u043d\u0430\u0447\u0430\u0442\u0438 (\u0432\u0456\u0434\u0437\u043d\u0430\u0447\u0430\u0442\u0438 \u0432 \u043a\u0430\u0442\u0430\u043b\u043e\u0437\u0456).<br \/>\nParonyms in Ukrainian library and bibliographic terminology are distinguished, in particular, by: 1) phonemic (\u0430\u0434\u0440\u0435\u0441\u0430\u0442 \u2013 \u0430\u0434\u0440\u0435\u0441\u0430\u043d\u0442) and morphemic (\u0434\u0435\u043a\u0432\u0430\u043b\u0456\u0444\u0456\u043a\u0430\u0446\u0456\u044f \u2013 \u0434\u0438\u0441\u043a\u0432\u0430\u043b\u0456\u0444\u0456\u043a\u0430\u0446\u0456\u044f) relations. 2) by the presence of a common root: monorooted (\u0434\u0440\u0443\u043a\u0430\u0440\u0441\u044c\u043a\u0438\u0439 \u2013 \u0434\u0440\u0443\u043a\u043e\u0432\u0430\u043d\u0438\u0439) and multirooted (\u0430\u0431\u043e\u043d\u0435\u043d\u0442 (\u0430\u0431\u043e\u043d\u0435\u043d\u0442 \u0431\u0456\u0431\u043b\u0456\u043e\u0442\u0435\u043a\u0438) \u2013 \u0430\u0431\u043e\u043d\u0435\u043c\u0435\u043d\u0442 (\u0431\u0456\u0431\u043b\u0456\u043e\u0442\u0435\u0447\u043d\u0438\u0439 \u0430\u0431\u043e\u043d\u0435\u043c\u0435\u043d\u0442).<br \/>\nThus, the use of paronyms in Ukrainian library and bibliographic terminology is an important aspect of the formation and development of professional vocabulary.
